General and specific objectives, (ND)

The National Diploma programme is designed to produce middle level manpower in Quantity Surveying for both public/private sectors of the economy.At the end of the programme, the products would be able to:

  1. Pursue studies leading to the Higher National Diploma Certificate in Quantity Surveying
  2. Understand Quantity Surveying Principles required to solve problems at Technicians level.

General and Specific Objectives, (HND)

The Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying is designed to produce higher level manpower needed in the construction industry.  Specifically they should be able to:

  1. Measure and prepare bills and contract documents for construction works
  2. Undertake feasibility studies for construction projects
  3. Give cost and advice, prepare valuations of construction projects and prepare final accounts
  4. Offer full scale cost engineering service and financial administration of construction contracts.
Pre-ND Programme in Quantity Surveying & Building Technology

This is a one year programme designed to prepare candidates who do not possess the minimum entry qualification requirement for admission into the ND programme.

Entry Requirements

Candidates for admission into the Pre-ND Programme must obtain at least  four credits in the SSCE/Ordinary level G.C.E/NECO or any other accredited examination body recognized by the Polytechnic. Two of the credits must be from Mathematics,  Physics/Chemistry and any other two from Geography, Economics, Agric. Science and at least a pass in English Language in one sitting.

National Diploma (ND) Programme in Quantity Surveying & Building Technology

This is a two year course, comprising of four semester including a compulsory supervised industrial attachment sandwiched between the sessions. 

Entry Requirements

In addition to General JME entry requirements, candidates for admission into the ND Programme must obtain a minimum of four credits in the SSCE/Ordinary level G.C.E/ NECO or any other accredited examination body recognized by the Polytechnic. Including English Language,  Mathematics,  Physics, Chemistry and any other two from Geography, Economics, Agric. Science, Technical Drawing, Government, Commerce and Wood works  in not more than two sittings.

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Quantity Surveying & Building Technology

This course runs for  four-semester.

Entry Requirements In addition to all the requirements for admission into the ND programme, candidate for admission into the HND programme must possess a minimum of Lower Credit pass in the National Diploma Examination in Quantity Surveying  from Auchi Polytechnic or any other recognized institution whose programme is accredited by NBTE satisfactory completion of one year industrial work experience in the construction industry.

In exceptional cases, ND diplomats with a Pass in the ND examination with at least two years cognate working experience in Quantity Surveying may be considered for admission into the HND programme.
