- Pre-ND Fine Art Objectives of programmes
The objective behind the
pre-ND programme would be to equip the student to:
On completion of the two-year National Diploma, the diplomat will be
expected to be a productive, creative, skilled general artist and
designers for the society, industries and commercial concerns. It offers
opportunity for self-employment.
On completion of the Higher National Diploma course in painting the
students should be able to:
The General course is designed to equip the students with visual and
literary communication skill, and acquaints him with developments in Art
and Education through the ages. |
| Pre-ND
Programme
This is a one year programme designed to cater for and prepare candidates who do not posses the minimum entry qualification for the ND programme. Entry Requirements The minimum entry requirement into the Pre-ND programme are as follows:
Irrespective of A and B above, all prospective candidates would be required to pass an entrance examination conducted by the school of Art and Design. |
National
Diploma (ND) Programme
This is a two year basic course in Art and Design. It comprises four semester which shall be devoted to on-campus instruction with a supervised industrial attachment scheduled for the long vacations. Project write-up exhibitions of their works as an intergral part of the final examination. Entry Requirements The minimum entry requirement for National Diploma is the West African School Certificate or its equivalent with a pass in English and Credit in at least four subjects including Fine Art, or Teacher Grade II certificate with merit in at least four subjects including English and Fine Art. In addition to the above candidate must meet JAMB entry requirement. |
Higher
National Diploma (HND) Programme
The Higher National diploma in Painting is a two-year programme comprising four semesters of intensive on-campus classroom and studio instruction with a supervised industrial attachment during the vacation. Project write-up exhibitions of their works as an intergral part of the final examination. Entry Requirements Candidate seeking admission for the higher National Diploma courses must have completed the National Diploma course and passed it at the pass level and must have worked in relevant industry for a minimum period of one year. |
