Programme goals & objectives

This programme is designed to produce Agricultural Engineering Technicians capable of utilizing and carrying out repairs and routine maintenance of farm machines, irrigation and drainage facilities, as well as storage and processing equipment and who can assist in design of farms, farm structures and other farming facilities.

On completion of the programme, the diplomats should be able to:

1. Operate, maintain and repair farm tractors, and other farm implements, tools, equipment and machinery.
2. supervise and manage mechanized farm
3. Construct small earth dams, drainage and water distribution systems and structures for irrigation purposes.
4. Carry out the construction and layout of contours, terraces, strip cropping for and conservation purposes.
5. Erect simple farm storage structures.
6. Fabricate simple primary crop processing machines like  shellers, decorticators, graters, milling machines, grinders etc.
7. Install, maintain and repair irrigation equipment.
8. Design an install electrical wiring systems in farm houses
9. Construct channels and water distribution networks for surface irrigation system of a farm.
10. prepare technical reports on small scale farm enterprise.
11. Prepare a farm survey plan and land capability classification of a farm.
